Established in 2020, Broadview Architecture & Interior Design is a new firm in Bermuda, offering complete end-to-end services from planning through to construction management.
Our experienced team have a proven track record of collaborating to produce design solutions across residential, commercial, hospitality and infrastructure projects.

Architectural & Interior Design Services
All architectural projects are a journey and carried out through the various stages — from project inception to completion. In an effort to guide you through the process, we have detailed the services we offer during each stage below:
Concept and Schematic Design
This is the exciting first step! We collaborate with you to identify the core project requirements, understand your design intent, and identify any parameters and/or constraints for your project.
We then get to work and provide you with design explorations for review and further development. When presented, we’ll also include construction estimates and identify at an early stage any possible planning and regulatory issues to be aware of. Once approved, we ‘ll coordinate drawings into final permitting and construction sets which are required.
Planning and Building Permit Submissions
As the client’s agent, we understand the planning process can be complex. We have vast experience in successfully dealing with the approach, preparation, submission, and negotiations of all types of planning and building permit applications.
Interior Design Services
Our intention is to provide our clients with not only aesthetically pleasing spaces but also ones that are highly functional. As interior designers, it’s our role to help guide your decisions so that your selections match with your lifestyle, budget and vision.
We can be there to help you as much or as little as needed throughout the project — our services can be as broad as helping design the space, selecting finishes, lighting or plumbing fixtures, right down to the furniture and fabrics. We can even help you place the orders and coordinate delivery and installation.
Specification and Product Procurement
With your end vision in mind, we offer a specification and procurement service to assist the contractor in delivering the completed product. Depending on the scope of the project, we can produce specification documents, bespoke detailed drawings and schedules that communicate the level of scope, products and quality of materials that are required in completing the final build.
Product procurement simply means we purchase all corresponding goods on your behalf. Sounds so simple — and yet this aspect of an interior design project can be difficult logistically unless it’s tightly managed by an experienced professional. We are well-versed in the most efficient importing methods to Bermuda.
Contract and Construction Administration
With permits successfully in hand, the next step is to convert the brief and approved drawings into the final built form. Acting on your behalf, we can lead this stage through contract administration and construction management.
We coordinate the tendering process to select a contractor that is the right fit for the project, lead the project team, monitor the construction progress and quality of work through regular site visits, continually review the budget and scheduling with the contractor, and review/process contractor requests construction changes that affect the budget.
We will administer the building contract between client and contractor through the procurement, construction, punchlist, handover and conclusion of the construction process, to ensure the project is built in accordance with the design documents and a certificate of completion is issued.
Think of us as your project observer and detailed record keeper.
Post-Construction Services
We can be on-hand for building commission, warranties and general maintenance, and assist with any future approvals that may need to be obtained.

Our Team
Colin Brown
Registered Chartered Architect, MIBA, ARB, RIBA
Colin studied at the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow and obtained his designation as a Registered Architect with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). He is registered in Bermuda and the United Kingdom. Having worked for numerous years gaining professional experience in Glasgow, Colin returned to Bermuda in 2011 and furthered his experience with local practices.
Colin implements a practical and functional design approach with a sound technical understanding that ensures client aspirations are met and a high quality design is consistently delivered. He enjoys developing design strategies and further refining them through collaboration with the client, his own team and consultants. He has extensive knowledge and expertise in the development requirements for all project types and has successfully coordinated sensitive planning applications.
Colin thrives on problem solving with contractors during the construction process, ensuring the quality of the intended design remains. As the client representative, his personable nature, clear communication and leadership ensures successful clients relationships.
Melissa Woods
Senior Interior Designer
Melissa earned a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design Degree from Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts.
Melissa is an award-winning interior designer with over ten years of experience serving clients in Bermuda. Skilled at creating beautiful designs under a variety of budgets, styles, timeframes, and requirements, she guides her clients through every phase of the design process and coordinates procurement.
Melissa’s experience also includes leading the interiors for several high-end luxury homes, as well as working with industry-leading corporate clients to renovate their spaces to make them not only aesthetically pleasing but also multifunctional.
Her creative abilities and pragmatic approach to design have made it easy for collaboration with architects and builders to execute her vision. Melissa’s mission is to assist both residential and commercial clients in creating timeless spaces.
Anthony DeShields
Chartered Architectural Technologist, MCIAT
Anthony studied Architectural Engineering and Technology at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts, and is one of Bermuda’s first accredited LEED Advance Professionals. With 15 years of experience, he has detailed knowledge of the technical complexities of construction, local building regulations and understanding of how to navigate the statutory process requirements.
Anthony’s considered and creative approach along with his attention to detail have been critical components to the overall success of award-winning residential projects. Anthony provides technical design solutions to unique architectural and interiors spaces. He balances the creativity of architects and designers, the collaboration of the mechanical and structural engineers, and the forward thinking of construction managers. With a structured, organised, and detailed mentality, Anthony delivers a focused project at each aspect of the design process.
